Materialize Your Dreams: A Guide to the Power of Positive Thinking

Social media has (mostly) provided a platform for free thought, expression and sharing of information that can either be useful or useless contingent on your beliefs and values. In recent years, a popular trend happens to be manifestation and laws of attraction. The likelihood of being sent a quote about manifesting seems to be rather high nowadays, perhaps it is indicative of the need to believe that we have some control over our lives and how we curate our lives, which could explain why the content seems to be growing on apps like TikTok and Instagram. With anxiety and mental health issues on the rise, it would make sense for us to gravitate towards something that feels attainable. A lot of anxiety is about the desire of maintaining some control over what will happen in the future, or how something will be perceived, when in fact we only have control of our perceptions about any given situation. So it seems like a natural progression to use the laws of attraction to harness our strengths and let go of what we cannot control, and instead focus on what may be a blessing in the current moment.

The beauty of these ideas are that it requires one to quiet the mind, meditate, breathe, and change a belief(s) to something that feels good versus impending doom. Science greatly supports meditation, deep breathing and mindfulness as there is evidence of benefits to the mind and body. It vastly improves one's health, by lowering stress, increasing the quality of sleep amongst many other benefits, so why not incorporate something that does wonders for the body and enhance your state of mind? Let's take a look at some ways to manifest.

Neville Goddard, Joseph Murphy, and Abraham Hicks are all well-known teachers of manifestation techniques. While they each have their unique approach, there are some common techniques that can help with manifestation. Here are a few of them:

  1. Visualization: Visualization is a technique where you imagine yourself in the future, experiencing the thing you want to manifest as if it has already happened. When you visualize, use all of your senses to make the experience as real as possible. Neville Goddard and Joseph Murphy both emphasize the importance of vividly imagining your desired outcome.

  2. Affirmations: Affirmations are positive statements that reinforce your belief in your ability to manifest what you want. Repeat them to yourself daily, several times a day, until they become a habit and you start to believe them. Joseph Murphy's "The Power of Your Subconscious Mind" book is a great resource for learning how to create and use affirmations effectively.

  3. Feeling the Emotion: It's important to feel the emotion of having already manifested your desire while visualizing and affirming. This is where Abraham Hicks' teachings can come in handy, as they emphasize the importance of feeling good and finding alignment with your inner being to attract what you want.

  4. Gratitude: Practicing gratitude for what you already have can help you attract more abundance into your life. Neville Goddard emphasizes the importance of being grateful for what you have now as a way of opening up to even more abundance.

  5. Letting Go: Finally, letting go of the attachment to the outcome can help you manifest what you want. This doesn't mean giving up on your desire, but rather trusting that the universe will bring you what you want in the best way possible. This is a key aspect of Abraham Hicks' teachings, as they emphasize the importance of allowing what you want to come to you instead of trying to force it.

Remember that manifestation takes practice and patience, so be kind to yourself and keep practicing these techniques consistently.
